APDA offers you a guide for caregivers of hearing-impaired seniors

Thanks to financial support from l'Appui Capitale-Nationale for caregivers of seniors, the Association of people with hearing impairments (APDA) offers support to relatives of people with hearing loss.

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

In Canada, more than one in two seniors lives with deafness. Additionally, with aging, when hearing is not stimulated, hearing loss has been shown to accelerate cognitive decline and affect active aging, Source: Alzheimer Society . Hearing problems have a significant impact on people who are hard of hearing, but also on those around them. Indeed, it is more difficult to maintain a more harmonious relationship between two people when the communication is more difficult. Relatives may have to deal with grief and emotions about the situation and feel the need to speak up.

Therefore, the Association of People with a Hearing Impairment (APDA) seeks to provide a space for sharing for loved ones and tools to improve their experience as a caregiver.

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

We offer a practical guide for caregivers you can download for free here:
